AudioPort™
What is AudioPort?
AudioPortâ„¢ is Audio Impressions' proprietary system for enabling sample computers to send up to 32 channels of digital audio over Gigabit Ethernet, or any high-speed TCP/IP connection to the Sequencer computer. AudioPort is also cross platform, sending audio from its Windows XP, Vista or Win 7 based VST host to an AU or VST AudioPort plug-in on a Mac OS-X or Windows XP/Vista/7 sequencer. Standard Ethernet connectivity is always required so that ipMIDI or MolCp3 can provide MIDI communication; it's also useful for advanced tech support and for downloading software and updates. To ensure that the network is fast enough to provide glitch-free, low-latency audio delivery, we recommend that you use a second Ethernet port (or "NIC") dedicated to AudioPort - using its own set of Cat 6 or Cat 5e cables and Gigabit switch.
AudioPort provides the hosting environment to allow Native Instruments' Kontakt 3 software to play Audio Impressions' DVZ libraries, and the stand-alone "AudioPort Universal" version can be used to host a variety of VST sampler players and synths.
Multiple sample players running AudioPort Host can simultaneously transfer digital audio to the sequencer, and with DVZ libraries, all samplers are controlled from a single graphical user interface (GUI). AudioPort Host now works in Vista 64 and Windows 7 64 bit OS's with the addition of jBridge, an inexpensive utility.
There's no need to have a separate GUI and audio output card on each sample player. No matter how many sample players you use for one of our Audio Impressions libraries, you need just one audio output.
The Universal version of AudioPort can be purchased as a stand-alone cross-platform host and audio transport that you can use to send audio from any VST virtual instrument or effects plug-in on your PC to AudioPort's VST or AU plug-ins on a Mac or PC sequencer or DAW. For more details click here.
